WORKSHOP SOLUTIONS

Three Services.
One Considered Approach.

Each service at Bumi Detik is scoped to a specific need. We do not offer a single "full service" that means different things on different days. You know what you are paying for, and we know what we have agreed to do.

HOW WE WORK

The Workshop Methodology

01

Receive & Record

The watch is received, photographed externally, and logged into the workshop system. A receipt is issued immediately.

02

Assess & Plan

The watchmaker documents the movement's condition, current timing, and component state. A written plan is prepared and shared with the owner.

03

Work & Verify

Agreed work is carried out, timed, and verified against the tolerance target. The watch is returned with a documented service invoice.

Watch inspection

SERVICE · 01

Intake Assessment & Preservation Plan

RM 140 · 3 working days

A thorough inspection visit for watches inherited or acquired recently. The watchmaker documents condition, measures current timing, identifies original components, and prepares a conservation plan listing which work is advisable now and which can reasonably be deferred. Clients leave with a written plan, not a pressured decision.

What is covered

  • External condition check — case, crystal, crown, pushers, bracelet
  • Movement timing measurement across dial-up and crown-positions
  • Component originality notation
  • Written conservation plan with priority classification
  • Deferral window stated in writing for non-urgent items

Process steps

  1. Watch received and photographed upon arrival
  2. Movement removed for visual and mechanical inspection
  3. Timing test conducted on machine, results recorded
  4. Conservation plan written and reviewed by senior watchmaker
  5. Plan presented to client; questions answered

SERVICE · 03

Complication Restoration with Documentation

RM 3,380 · timeline agreed at intake

A careful restoration for perpetual calendars, split-seconds, and similar complex calibres. • Re-pinioning of worn arbors where required
  • Lever and spring inspection, repair, or replacement
  • Photographic record at each stage of disassembly and assembly
  • Client consulted before any decision affecting original finish

Best for Assessment: A watch you have just inherited or acquired, or one whose service history you don't know. Also suitable when you want a second opinion before committing to major work elsewhere.

Best for Overhaul: A watch you wear regularly that has not been serviced in five or more years, or one showing rough winding or slight timekeeping drift.

Best for Restoration: A complication watch — perpetual calendar, chronograph, or similar — that needs careful, documented work and whose condition warrants the investment of a thorough restoration.

ACROSS ALL SERVICES

Workshop Standards

Secure Custody

Every watch in the workshop is stored in a locked cabinet when not on the bench. Transit between workstations is logged.

Calibre-Grade Lubricants

We use Moebius and Nye range lubricants applied with appropriate dispensers. Lubricant selection follows calibre-specific technical references.

Controlled Environment

The workshop is climate-controlled. Open movements are never left in conditions that would cause condensation or dust ingress.

Traceable Components

Replacement parts are sourced from established horological suppliers and logged by reference. Clients may request the sourcing record.

Client Privacy

Watch and owner records are held in a secure system and not shared with any third party. Service files are kept for seven years.

Honest Timelines

We quote turnaround times we believe we can meet. When a delay arises, we contact the client before the original date passes.
