AT A GLANCE

Six Reasons Clients Return

Written Assessment Before Any Work

You receive a documented condition report and a plan before committing to any service.

Calibre-Matched Techniques

Methods and lubricants are chosen for the specific movement, not applied generically.

Itemised, Honest Invoices

Every renewed component is listed by reference. No bundled fees, no unexplained charges.

Photographic Documentation

Complex restorations are photographed throughout. The images become part of the watch's permanent service file.

Client Consulted Before Finish Decisions

Case polishing and refinishing are never automatic. We ask first, and we explain the implications honestly.

Commitments We Keep

Turnaround times are stated honestly. If circumstances change, we will contact you before the deadline passes.

Professional Expertise

Rashid Hamdan, the workshop's senior watchmaker, trained formally in Switzerland and has over two decades of hands-on experience with mechanical calibres. The team holds current membership with the Malaysian Horological Society and follows continuing development in escapement design and lubrication science.

  • Over 20 years of combined watchmaking experience
  • Formal horological training, Switzerland and Malaysia
  • Ongoing technical development and calibre study

Technology & Method

The workshop uses a calibrated multi-position timing machine for regulation verification, ultrasonic cleaning equipment for movement components, and purpose-grade lubricants sourced from watchmaker supply houses. Nothing is applied from memory or guesswork; lubricant selection follows current technical guidance for each calibre family.

  • Multi-position timing machine verification
  • Ultrasonic cleaning for movement parts
  • Calibre-specific lubricants, current grade

Client Service Excellence

We understand that leaving a watch with a stranger requires trust. Kian Wei, our client liaison, ensures that communication is prompt and plain-spoken. Assessments are written in language that does not require horological knowledge to follow. If your watch will be delayed, you will hear from us before you need to ask.

  • Written reports in accessible language
  • Proactive updates without chasing
  • All decisions confirmed with owner before proceeding

Value & Pricing

Our pricing reflects the actual work required for each calibre and service level. The Intake Assessment at RM 140 is credited toward the cost of any subsequent service. The Service Overhaul at RM 620 covers a full range of work that some workshops itemise separately. Complication restoration at RM 3,380 includes full documentation, which adds lasting value to the watch's service history.

  • Assessment fee credited toward subsequent service
  • No hidden components or surprise additions
  • Fixed-scope pricing agreed at intake

Results & Outcomes

Service-grade overhauls typically restore a watch to within ±8 seconds per day — often better. Clients who return with the same piece after a second service interval commonly report that accuracy held within specification throughout the service life.

The photographic service file created during complication work has assisted clients in demonstrating provenance and condition history when valuing or insuring a significant piece. Documentation produced here is structured to be understood by independent valuers.

Clients who begin with the RM 140 Intake Assessment frequently find that the written plan it produces helps them make a considered decision rather than acting on urgency. Several have deferred major work and found the watch continued to perform adequately within the specified deferral period.

WHAT SETS US APART

Distinctives You Will Not Find Everywhere

The Assessment Credit

The RM 140 Intake Assessment fee is credited toward any subsequent service booked within six months. You pay for a thorough inspection and a written plan — and that amount is not lost if you proceed. This removes the incentive to skip the assessment and go straight to work that may not be necessary.

Deferral Guidance in Writing

We will tell you what can wait — and put a reasonable deferral window in writing. Many workshops have no incentive to say "this can wait six months." We do, because the relationship matters more than filling the workshop calendar today.

Service File Retained Seven Years

All service records, including photographs, are kept in a permanent file accessible to the client. This history adds demonstrable value for insurance, resale, or simply knowing what has been done to a watch over its lifetime in your care.

Referral for Out-of-Scope Work

When a calibre falls outside our experience or when a piece needs a movement part that requires manufacturer-direct sourcing, we will say so clearly and point you toward the appropriate route. We do not attempt work we are not equipped to do well.
