1. Definitions
"Bumi Detik", "we", "us", "our" refers to the watch repair workshop operating at Jalan Sultan Ismail, 50250 Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. "Client", "you", "your" refers to any individual or entity that uses our services or website. "Service" means any watch repair, assessment, overhaul, or restoration provided by us. "Agreement" means these Terms and Conditions as accepted by the Client.
2. Acceptance of Terms
By submitting an enquiry form, booking a service, or leaving a watch at our workshop, you confirm that you are at least 18 years of age and have the legal capacity to enter into this Agreement. These terms govern the relationship between you and Bumi Detik for all services rendered.
3. Service Description
We offer three primary services: Intake Assessment and Preservation Plan (RM 140), Service-Grade Overhaul for Everyday Watches (RM 620), and Complication Restoration with Documentation (RM 3,380). Each service is described in detail on our Solutions page. Services are available in-workshop at our Kuala Lumpur address. We do not currently offer postal servicing.
4. Booking and Intake
Bookings may be made by telephone or via the website enquiry form. Upon receiving your watch, we will issue a written receipt. No service work will commence until the scope and estimated cost have been confirmed with you in writing or verbally. For complication restoration, a deposit may be requested prior to work commencing; the amount will be agreed at intake.
5. Client Responsibilities
- You warrant that the watch you present for service is your property, or that you have the authority of the owner to authorise the service.
- You agree to provide accurate contact details so that we may reach you during the service period.
- You are responsible for collecting the watch within 30 days of notification that it is ready. After 30 days, a storage fee of RM 10 per day may apply.
- You agree to review the service invoice and raise any queries within 14 days of collection.
6. Prohibited Uses
You must not use our website or services to submit false information, misrepresent ownership of a timepiece, or engage in any conduct that is unlawful under Malaysian law.
7. Intellectual Property
All content on this website — including text, images, the Bumi Detik name, and logo — is the property of Bumi Detik. You may not reproduce or distribute any content without our prior written consent. Service files produced for your watch are produced for your personal use and reference; Bumi Detik retains copies in its workshop archive.
8. Payment Terms
- Payment is due in full upon collection of the watch.
- We accept cash (Malaysian Ringgit) and direct bank transfer (FPX and interbank).
- Where a deposit is agreed for complication work, the balance is due at collection.
- Invoices are issued in Malaysian Ringgit (RM).
9. Service-Specific Terms
Intake Assessment
The RM 140 assessment fee is non-refundable once the assessment has been completed and the written plan delivered. The fee is credited in full toward any subsequent service booked within six months of the assessment date.
Service-Grade Overhaul
The overhaul scope covers disassembly, cleaning, renewal of mainspring and gaskets, and timing regulation. Additional components identified during service will be quoted separately before fitment. Turnaround is approximately two weeks from the date work is confirmed.
Complication Restoration
The scope and timeline for complication work are agreed at intake. We will consult you before any intervention that affects the original finish of the piece. The RM 3,380 base price covers the stated scope; additional work identified during restoration will be quoted and approved before proceeding.
10. Disclaimers
Services are provided to a reasonable standard of horological workmanship. We do not represent that a serviced watch will achieve any specific performance outcome beyond the timing tolerances stated in our service descriptions. Pre-existing condition issues may limit achievable results; these will be noted in the assessment report.
We are not responsible for the discovery during service of pre-existing faults not visible at intake, provided we notify you promptly upon discovery.
11. Limitation of Liability
Our liability for any claim arising from a service is limited to the value of the service fee paid. We are not liable for consequential, indirect, or special losses. Nothing in these terms limits our liability for damage caused by our negligence or wilful misconduct.
12. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold Bumi Detik harmless from any claims arising from your breach of these terms or your provision of inaccurate information about the ownership or condition of a watch presented for service.
13. Termination
You may withdraw a watch from service at any time before work commences, subject to any deposit already paid. Once work has commenced, withdrawal is subject to payment for work completed. We may decline or cease a service if we determine that the work is outside our competence, or if the watch presents undisclosed safety or legal issues.
14. Dispute Resolution
These terms are governed by the laws of Malaysia. In the event of a dispute, the parties agree to first attempt informal resolution by direct communication. If informal resolution fails, disputes shall be referred to the courts of Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
15. General Provisions
These terms constitute the entire agreement between you and Bumi Detik for the services described. If any provision is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in full effect. Our failure to enforce a term on any occasion does not constitute a waiver of that term.
16. Changes to These Terms
We may update these terms from time to time. Updated terms will be published on this page with a revised effective date. Continued use of our services after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
